Yana Van Nuffel
Yana started with photography in her childhood. She got her first professional camera for her 10th birthday. It was through her father that she met the world of photography.
‘An important aspect of my work is that I always work with natural light. This makes that I’m very dependent from the weather, but that doesn’t bother me. I never work out a complete setting when I’m doing a shoot. I love working in black and white, which doesn’t mean I don’t use color, but I consciously look for contrast and sometimes that pans out better in black and white. I love going for straight lines and carefully manage the esthetics of the pictures. I really put a lot of importance on the models I use: the look and attitude of a model determine the emotion that I want to portray in my pictures.’
